Ms Chu Swee Yeok is the Chief Executive Officer and President of EDBI Pte Ltd where she is responsible for championing EDBI’s global direct investments in early to high growth sectors, late-stage companies, as well as fund investments. Armed with over 35 years of experience, she has been driving the development and execution of investment strategies at EDBI, balancing its unique strategic and financial mandates to support new economy sectors such as info-communication, financial services, healthcare, emerging technologies, and potential local champions in key manufacturing and services related industries.

Prior to joining EDBI in 2009, Ms Chu was the founding CEO of a $1B global investment fund dedicated to catalysing a range of biomedical activities in Singapore, riding on the success of earlier investment funds by the Economic Development Board (EDB) where she built the pioneering fund management teams and oversaw their investment activities. Before her investing career, Ms Chu helmed senior positions at the EDB and the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR) where she was instrumental in helping to create a new economic pillar for Singapore, laying the foundation for nurturing public and private sector talents, shaping effective business strategies and driving their successful execution.

Besides the EDBI Board and its Executive Committee, she is a non-executive director of the National Healthcare Group, SingPost Limited, Pegasus Asia, Anext Bank Pte Ltd, and Singapore-Suzhou Township Development Pte Ltd. Additionally, she serves on the A*STAR Board Enterprise Sub-Committee and is a Limited Partner Advisory Committee member of several global private equity / venture capital funds.
