David Birrer

David Birrer has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. David'smost recent role is as the Chief Operating Officer at Edelweiss since March 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Supervisory Board Member at Flight Training Alliance from November 2019 to April 2022. From January 2017 to February 2022, they held the position of Managing Director & Accountable Manager at Lufthansa Aviation Training Switzerland AG. David also served as the Chief Operating Officer at the same company from June 2014 to December 2016 and as the Vice President/Head of Training Devices & Infrastructure from January 2009 to May 2014. At Lufthansa, they worked as the Process Owner Training Devices & Infrastructure from January 2017 to October 2019. Additionally, they have experience in executive and commercial committees at Digital Radio Mondiale Consortium from 2006 to 2008 and in various roles at Thomson Broadcast & Multimedia AG from 1999 to 2008.

David Birrer's education history began in 1995 when they enrolled at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. David completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1998, with a focus on Communications engineering. In 2002, Birrer pursued further education at Berner Fachhochschule BFH, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration and Engineering in International Management in 2003. In 2004, they attended the University of Cambridge and earned a Cambridge International Diploma in Management, specializing in Marketing Strategy. Additionally, Birrer studied at Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences Switzerland in 2004-2005 and obtained an Executive Master of Business Administration FH, with a focus on International Marketing. Most recently, in 2016, they participated in the Advanced Management Programme (AMP 190) at Harvard Business School.
