Chunfang received his bachelor’s degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, in nuclear engineering. He received his master’s degree from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, in applied mathematics. He received his Ph.D from Delft University in geology. He came to the United States, working as a postdoc at Stanford University for two years. He joined Shell company for two years as a reservoir engineer. He joined MIT as a research scientist for six years before joining Eden GeoTech. Chunfang’s research covers fracture mechanics, reservoir flow and poroelastics, fault/seismic dynamics, and high performance computing. Chunfang worked on several projects sponsored by the Department of Energy, National Science Foundation (NSF), and many other institutes. At Eden, he works on an NSF project to investigate electric current induced fracturing.
