Kyel Steensma

Kyel Steensma currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Edexia, an AI Teaching Assistant company backed by Y Combinator, since November 2024. Prior to this role, Kyel worked at Aurecon as a Consultant in Hydrogen & Industrial Decarbonisation, providing techno-economic advisory for large-scale projects and contributing to the design of green ammonia plants. As a founder of Jungle, a platform aimed at guiding high school students in their career choices, Kyel also facilitated UQ Ventures, teaching business skills to young students. Additional experience includes presenting seminars on study skills at Elevate Education, contributing to metallurgical research, and founding The Wicked Problem Set. Kyel has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from The University of Queensland.
