Dan Barker, MBA, P.Eng. has over a decade of experience in the renewable energy industry. Dan currently serves as Sr. Director, Asset Optimization Canada at EDF Renewables North America. In this role, they are responsible for optimizing asset performance and ensuring quality and customer satisfaction in the Canadian market.

Prior to their current position, Dan held various leadership roles at ENERCON North America. Dan started as a Technical Services Supervisor, coordinating service work and providing technical assistance for wind turbines across multiple provinces. Dan then became a Technical Manager, overseeing operations and managing a team of service technicians. Later, they were promoted to Managing Director, Service English Canada, where they led a team servicing turbines in four provinces and supported the company's expansion into the Quebec market. Finally, they advanced to the role of Managing Director, Service North America, leading a team of over 200 employees and implementing an optimization strategy to deliver benchmark performance and cost efficiency across operations, quality, supply chain, and technical support.

Before joining ENERCON, Dan worked as a Wind Energy Analyst at M.K. Ince and Associates Ltd. Their responsibilities in this role involved analyzing wind energy data and providing insights for project development.

Dan Barker, MBA, P.Eng, holds an Executive MBA degree from École des sciences de la gestion (ESG UQAM), which they obtained from 2018 to 2020. Dan also completed a Mini-MBA Executive Development Course at McGill University - Desautels Faculty of Management in 2017. In 2004, they received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Co-op Option from Dalhousie University. In 2009, they attended Aarhus University for a Wind Turbine Technology Summer School program. In addition, they are a certified Professional Engineer, having obtained the certification from Engineers Nova Scotia in 2013.
