Alec Sunderlin

System Safety Engineer at Edge Case Research

Alec Sunderlin has a diverse work experience in the field of safety and engineering. Alec is currently working as a System Safety Engineer at Edge Case Research since November 2021. Prior to this, they were employed at Equipment & Controls, Inc. for three years, where they held multiple roles including DCS Field Services Engineer, Safety Coordinator, and EHS Intern. Alec also gained experience as a Student Employee at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for four years, where they assisted with administrative tasks and ensured safety in a JLG lift. Additionally, they completed internships at Arconic and CLI Transport, LP, where they focused on environmental health and transportation safety.

Alec Sunderlin completed their education with a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Systems Engineering from Penn State University, where they studied from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Health, and Environmental Applied Sciences with a minor in Physics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. This four-year course took place from 2014 to 2018. Alec also holds a certification as a Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, although the exact date of obtaining this certification is unknown.
