Brent Houk

Brent Houk has over 20 years of work experience. In 2021, they became a Board Advisor for Virsec. From 2018 to 2021, they were the Cybersecurity Practice Lead for Edge Solutions & Consulting Inc. From 2009 to 2018, they were the VP - Information Security at Anthem, Inc., where they were responsible for leading a division of 300+ diverse national workforce members managing Anthem Enterprise Information Security Technologies, providing vision, strategic direction and managing an $80M budget. From 2003 to 2009, they were the Director of IT Infrastructure for Franciscan Alliance, Inc. From 1998 to 2003, they were an Adjunct Faculty Member at Indiana Wesleyan University, and from 1998 to 2003 they were the Information Security Manager / Team Leader at Eli Lilly and Company.

Brent Houk obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Ball State University, followed by a Master of Science (M.S.) in Information and Communication Sciences from the same university. Additionally, they are a graduate of the College of Health Information Management Executives CIO Bootcamp from C.H.I.M.E. in 2008, and holds Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V3 and CISSP certifications from ITIL Certified and (ISC)², respectively, obtained in 2008 and 2003.
