Linda Barfield

Linda Barfield, MBA/PA, has a diverse work experience spanning several roles within government organizations. Linda is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Edgecombe County Government, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, Linda worked at the Upper Coastal Plain Council of Governments from March 2015 to May 2023, where they served as the Assistant Director of the Area Agency on Aging. In this role, they oversaw programmatic and fiscal aspects of the Home and Community Care Block Grant, provided technical assistance to regional service providers, and managed county contracts. From November 2011 to March 2015, Linda worked as the DSS Fiscal Officer at the Edgecombe County Department of Social Services, where they were responsible for preparing the agency budget and advising the director on fiscal policies. Linda started their career at Edgecombe County Government in October 1997 and held various roles, including Assistant Finance Director and Administrative Assistant II, until November 2011. In these positions, they compiled and analyzed financial statements, reconciled and balanced accounts, and performed internal audits. Throughout their career, Linda has demonstrated expertise in financial management, program oversight, and budgeting.

Linda Barfield, MBA/PA, completed their education at three institutions. Linda obtained a Master of Business Administration in Public Administration from Liberty University between 2017 and 2019. Prior to that, they studied Accounting with a minor in Business at North Carolina Wesleyan University from 2015 to 2016. Linda began their educational journey at Edgecombe Community College, where they obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Accounting from 1991 to 1993.
