Ellie Beam serves as an Exceptional Children Teacher at Edgecombe County Public Schools since August 2016, demonstrating a commitment to special education. Previously, Ellie held positions as a Cashier at Giant Food from June 2009 to June 2016 and completed an internship at Wesley Spectrum Services from September 2015 to April 2016. Experience also includes roles as a Camp Counselor at YMCA from May 2013 to August 2015 and various student assistant positions at the University of Pittsburgh between September 2012 and April 2015. Ellie obtained a degree from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 2016.

The district has 15 high quality schools with approximately 7,800 terrific students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Local students are distributed among well maintained and recently renovated buildings that compose 3 traditional high schools, an Early College High School, 4 middle schools, 5 elementary schools, a combination school (grades 4-6) and an alternative school.
