Sakyasingha Dasgupta, PhD

Sakyasingha Dasgupta, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Sakyasingha is currently the Founder & CEO of Edgecortix, a deep-tech startup based in California and Japan. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Technology Officer & acting CEO of Neuri Pte Ltd, a spin-out from Ascent Robotics where they were the Chief Scientific Officer. Sakyasingha has also held leadership positions at LeapMind, Inc and IBM, where they worked as a Principal Scientist, Head of Research and Senior Research Staff Member, respectively. Sakyasingha has also worked as a Visiting Research Scientist at RIKEN and a Research Associate at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. Sakyasingha's research interests span a wide range of areas including deep reinforcement learning, computer vision, neural computation, and generative models. Sakyasingha has also published research papers and holds several patents in the field.

Sakyasingha Dasgupta, PhD has a diverse education history in various fields. In 2012 to 2015, they pursued a Doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) in the Physics of Complex Systems at The University of Göttingen. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2010, they obtained an MSc degree with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning) from The University of Edinburgh. In 2017, Sakyasingha attended the MIT Sloan School of Management to study Innovation of Products and Services, focusing on MIT's Approach to Design Thinking. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as "Innovation of Products and Services: MIT's Approach to Design Thinking" from MIT Sloan School of Management in January 2018, and "IBM Design Thinking Practitioner" from IBM in May 2017.
