Axel de la Harpe

Axel De La Harpe is a skilled backend software engineer with substantial experience in data engineering and machine learning. Currently working at Edgelab since August 2022, prior roles include Big Data Engineer at Dathena, where Axel designed and implemented features for Scala-based data pipelines and collaborated on NLP algorithms. Earlier experience includes a position as Junior Machine Learning Engineer at iGenius AI, developing a neural text-to-speech system and an NLP system, as well as completing a Master's thesis at the University of Tartu focused on deep reinforcement learning. Additional experience encompasses a product management internship at Sqeedtime and a student assistant role at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, where Axel supported first-year programming students. Axel holds a Master of Engineering in Life Sciences and Technologies from EPFL, completed in 2018.
