Roland Walker has a diverse work experience in various healthcare and leadership roles. Roland started their career as a Family Practice Resident at Methodist Hospitals in 2004. Roland then worked as a Drug Court Facilitator at Gary City Drug Court in 2005 before becoming the Owner/Operator of Auto Spa of NWI in 2006. In the same year, they also started working as a Physician at Walker Medical. In 2011, they served as the Health Commissioner for the City of Gary and also worked on the Friends of Roland Walker Exploratory Committee. Roland then became the Executive Director of NWI Health Dept. Cooperative in 2012. In 2015, they became the Medical Director at Marram Health, where they managed and directed all medical operations. Currently, they hold the position of Health Commissioner at The City of Gary and is also serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Edgewater Health since 2021.

Roland Walker obtained a Board Certification in Medicine from the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians in 2019. Prior to that, they pursued their M.D. degree in Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science from 1997 to 2001. Roland'seducational journey began at Morehouse College, where they earned a B.S. degree in Biology between 1989 and 1993.
