Charles Achoa

Charles Achoa has extensive work experience in finance and has held various senior roles in renowned companies. Charles'smost recent position was as Director of Sales, Brazil at Edgewater Markets, starting in September 2022.

Prior to this, Charles was a Management Consultant at Voiter from April to August 2022. Charles also worked as a Partner & Board Member at Grupo Investa - Accendo Banco from October 2012 to March 2015.

Charles has a strong background in investment banking. Charles worked at RBS - The Royal Bank of Scotland as Managing Director, Head of Markets & IB - Latin America / Head of Latam DCM from August 2010 to October 2012. Before that, they held the position of Managing Director - Capital Markets at Credit Suisse from May 1997 to August 2010 (Credit Suisse acquired DLJ Securities in 2000).

At Credit Suisse, Charles played a key role in establishing the company as a top choice for Brazilian corporate debt underwriting. Charles had long-standing relationships with treasurers, CFOs, and CEOs of major Brazilian corporates, financial institutions, the Federal Government, and quasi-sovereign institutions. Charles also worked on developing and distributing derivatives and structured products to Brazilian clients, focusing on credit derivatives, CDOs, leverage bond structures, FX hedging, tax planning transactions, and other investment and hedging products.

Earlier in their career, Charles worked at DLJ - Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as Senior VP - Structuring from May 1997 to August 2000. Charles was also a Director at SBC Warburg (currently UBS) from October 1996 to May 1997 and a Vice President at Chemical Bank / Chase (currently JPM) from July 1993 to September 1996.

Charles started their career as a Summer Associate at Bankers Trust Company (acquired by Deutsch Bank) in June 1992.

Charles Achoa completed their high school education at Colegio Tecnico Industrial Prof Isaac Portal Roldan - FEB - Bauru, SP, Brazil from 1980 to 1982, where they studied Electronics. Charles then attended Jefferson High School - Independence IA from 1983 to 1984 and obtained their High School degree. Charles Achoa further pursued their education at FEI from 1985 to 1989, where they earned a BSE in Industrial Electrical Engineering. Finally, they attended the University of Rochester - Simon Business School from 1991 to 1993, where they received an MBA with a specialization in Finance.
