Edgewood ISD
Jennifer Muturi is a dedicated professional with diverse experience in education, public health research, immigration law, and community engagement. Currently serving as a Literacy and Technology Assistant at Edgewood Independent School District since September 2021, Jennifer manages student technology equipment and teaches reading comprehension and phonics to K-5 students. Previous roles include a Research Assistant at Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, where Jennifer focused on literature reviews related to sleep quality and social inequalities in heart health, and an Immigration Paralegal at Dunbar Harder, PLLC, responsible for filing applications and drafting legal documents. Jennifer's research background includes an internship at Sanford Health, evaluating maternal and child health factors in Ghana, and a research scholarship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Educational achievements include credit hours toward a Master's in Public Health from Emory University and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Rice University, complemented by initiatives involving community development and human rights advocacy.
