Vanessa Maykel

Vanessa Maykel has a diverse work experience in marketing, public relations, and account management. Vanessa started their career as a Server, Hostess, and Special Events Assistant at Nantucket Yacht Club in 2011. Vanessa then interned at various organizations such as the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Halpern, and Liberty Hotel, where they gained experience in marketing and public relations. In 2013, they worked as a Marketing Coordinator at Boston Sailing Center.

In 2014, Vanessa joined Whole Foods Market as a Marketing Team Leader, where they managed all aspects of store marketing and led a team of 5 reports. During their tenure, they significantly grew multiple stores' Instagram accounts and engaged the local community through strategic donations and partnerships. Vanessa also analyzed the effectiveness of marketing initiatives to influence business decisions.

From 2015 to 2017, Vanessa worked at af&co., starting as an Associate Account Manager and progressing to Senior Account Manager. In their role, they oversaw marketing and public relations strategies for various restaurant, hospitality, and event-based accounts. Vanessa developed expertise in social media management, brand development, and event planning. Vanessa also played a key role in advising corporate operations and generating revenue through new offerings.

In 2018, Vanessa joined Fineman PR as an Account Supervisor, where they focused on integrated communications strategy for clients in the wine, food, consumer, event, tech, and healthcare industries. Vanessa led day-to-day initiatives, pursued new business leads, and mentored junior and mid-level staff.

In 2019, Vanessa joined Edelman, a parent company of Edible, Inc., where they initially served as an Account Supervisor and later became a Senior Account Supervisor. Vanessa managed client accounts, developed proposals, conducted presentations, and provided crisis counsel. In October 2021, they were promoted to Vice President.

Currently, Vanessa works at Edible, Inc., a Daniel J. Edelman Company, as a Vice President, utilizing their extensive experience in marketing, public relations, and account management.

Vanessa Maykel completed their high school education at Worcester Academy from 2005 to 2009, obtaining their High School Diploma. Following that, they attended Boston University from 2009 to 2012, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising with a minor in Art History.
