Lisa Ayala

Lisa Ayala is a seasoned professional with 25 years of experience in television news and print journalism, currently serving as the Public Information Officer for Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District since August 2021. Previously, Lisa co-founded Ayala Hettler Media and directed marketing and public relations for Ayala Rental Properties from May 2000 to May 2019. Additional experience includes serving as the Director of Marketing, Public Relations and Membership at Gladys Porter Zoo and working as a television news reporter and anchor for KRGV-TV. Lisa's early career includes roles as a news reporter for The Monitor Newspaper and as a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Fellow under U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Journalism in Broadcast Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin and is currently enrolled in a Master's program in Communication and Media Studies at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
