Dan Ridley-Ellis

Dan Ridley-Ellis is an esteemed academic and researcher specializing in wood science and technology. Currently serving as the Head of the Centre for Wood Science and Technology at Edinburgh Napier University since April 2003, Dan focuses on the physical and mechanical properties of wood and their performance in various applications. Prior roles include Principal Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow at the Forest Products Research Institute and the Centre for Timber Engineering, both emphasizing timber properties, testing, and strength grading. Previous experience at the University of Nottingham includes positions as a Lecturer in Construction and Infrastructure and Research and Teaching Associate in the School of Civil Engineering. Dan holds a PhD, an MRes with Distinction, and a BEng with First Class Honours, all in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
