Vassilis Charissis

Vassilis Charissis is a Professor of Creative Technologies at Edinburgh Napier University since March 2023, with extensive experience in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and immersive technologies. Previously, Vassilis served as a Professor at Glasgow Caledonian University from January 2010 to March 2023, where responsibilities included directing the VRS Lab and leading the Visual, Affective and Pervasive Systems research group, focusing on diverse areas such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and simulations. Prior roles included Senior Researcher at Digital Design Studio, where project management and HCI development were key responsibilities, and Lead Researcher at the National Technical University of Athens. Vassilis's academic background includes a PhD and MPhil from the University of Glasgow, complemented by a BSc from the University of West Attica. Additionally, Vassilis contributed to vehicle design at Alfa Romeo, enhancing expertise in advanced design and prototyping.
