Amalia Soenens

Amalia Soenens, PhD, currently serves as a Product Manager at EditCo, beginning in March 2024, following a similar role at Synthego Corporation from June 2021 to March 2024. Prior to these positions, Amalia worked as an Applications Scientist at GALT: General Automation Lab Technologies, Inc from January 2020 to April 2021 and completed a Ph.D. at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where research focused on discovering bacteria for sustainable agriculture and genomic characterization of bacterial populations. Amalia's research experience also includes internships at the Spanish National Research Council, University of Cambridge, and John Innes Centre, with a strong emphasis on chemical characterization and secondary metabolism studies. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Agroforestal Biotechnology and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, along with a GCSE and A Level from Loretto School Edinburgh.
