Janelle Janis

Janelle Janis is an experienced professional in event and business development, currently serving as the Executive Director at Explore Edmonton Corporation since July 2020, where efforts focus on enhancing Edmonton’s visitor economy through significant sport, culture, and business events. Previously, Janelle held the position of Director of Edmonton Events, a collaborative initiative between the City of Edmonton and Explore Edmonton that aims to attract and successfully host major events. Janelle’s career includes roles such as Event Attraction Strategist for the City of Edmonton and Event Attraction Manager for Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, where contributions were made to bring noteworthy cultural and sporting events to the city. Earlier positions include Marketing Manager for the FIFA Women’s World Cup and Community Relations at FC Edmonton. Janelle holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Marketing from the University of Alberta.
