When you’re talking about innovation in Edmonton, the potential is endless. From the sticky problems we solve to the brilliant people who solve them, this has always been a place that sees opportunity instead of barriers, that supports and encourages one another, and a place where people come to do big things – because they can. Edmonton Unlimited is all about harnessing the power of possibility and bringing the best of Edmonton to the world. It is welcoming, inclusive and unconstrained by traditional definitions of innovation, business or entrepreneurship. Anyone can be an innovator — in any sector, in any industry, and from any background. But innovation always starts with an idea. Edmonton Unlimited provides the tools and support that our city’s innovators, big thinkers and problem solvers need to turn their ideas into solutions. We work with innovators at every stage, from those with an early idea to those with built-out solutions. Edmonton is a global innovation capital and we are inviting people of all genders, ethnicities, backgrounds, experiences, abilities and voices to the innovation table, to help tackle the world’s most pressing problems. Our organization was created in May 2020, with unanimous City Council support and a broad mandate to harness the transformational power of innovation and community building. Together we are building an inclusive global innovation capital – a city of innovators tackling the world’s stickiest issues, including the climate emergency, food security, public health, digital inclusion, social justice and Reconciliation, to name a few.
