Leland So

Leland So has extensive work experience in software engineering and development. Leland began their career as a Research Assistant at UC Davis, where they worked on programming the artificial intelligence component of a military strategy simulator. Leland then moved on to Northrop Grumman, where they worked as a Software Engineer, enabling the front end of a mission planning software to work across networks and developing test tools for the automated mission planning backend.

After their time at Northrop Grumman, Leland joined Teradata as a Software Engineer, contributing to the development of Teradata Data Mover, an enterprise application designed to simplify the process of moving data across different databases. Additionally, they worked on the Teradata Parallel Transporter API, a C++ data load/unload API.

Most recently, Leland has been working at Edmunds, where they have held various roles. Leland started their journey at Edmunds as a Senior Software Engineer and then transitioned to the role of Technical Lead, managing a team responsible for building and maintaining key revenue-generating applications. Leland later became the Director of Software Engineering and most recently has been serving as a Staff Software Engineer.

Throughout their career, Leland has acquired a diverse skill set, working with technologies such as JavaScript, Java, databases, ETL processes, JVM, and OS.

Leland So holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from UCLA, which they obtained from 2001 to 2002. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis, attending from 1997 to 2001.

In addition to their formal education, Leland has pursued various certifications. Leland completed the "TensorFlow in Practice" certification from Coursera in March 2020. In July 2018, they obtained the "Deep Learning Specialization" certification and the "Machine Learning" certification, both also from Coursera. Leland also holds the "Teradata Certified Professional V2R5" certification, but information regarding the institution and dates of acquisition for this certification are not available.
