Kent Shields

Kent Shields is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in engineering and project management across the renewable energy and environmental sectors. Currently serving as Executive Vice President, Technical at EDP Renewables North America since April 2016, Kent has held multiple leadership roles including Vice President and Director of Construction. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Director of Technical Marketing at Zilkha Biomass Energy LLC, where Kent led significant environmental risk management and business development initiatives. Kent's earlier roles encompass positions at Horizon Wind Energy, Golder Associates, and the Peace Corps, contributing to expertise in wind energy, geotechnical engineering, and water sanitation projects. Kent holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering - Geotechnical and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, both from The University of Texas at Austin.
