Karen has been working in both public and private education for eighteen years, and joined Edu-Tech in 2014. She holds a B.A. in Education and Child Study from Smith College, and is a licensed teacher in Pennsylvania and Virginia. For most of her teaching career, she was as an instructional technology coach to help teachers use technology creatively and meaningfully in the classroom. Karen is innovative and resourceful in helping schools effectively use technology to improve student engagement and learning. She differentiates training for teachers' professional growth by providing hands-on group training and one-on-one sessions. Karen’s experience as a parent, teacher, and technology coach have allowed her to develop a strong sense of best educational practices. Those skills, coupled with her technology expertise, enable her to create and provide practical, easy-to-implement ideas to help teachers and students reach their full potential in their learning.
Karen is a Google Certified Trainer and has also been trained in implementing Responsive Classroom, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Professional Learning Communities (PLC), and Adaptive Schools. At Edu-Tech, Karen oversees day-to-day business operations, manages the technology integration support program, oversees the technology assessment and audits, and trains the clients in G Suite for Education, Chromebooks, Smartboards, and iPads.
