Johannah Nikula has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Johannah began their career as a Research Assistant at Education Development Center in 1999 and transitioned to the role of Research Associate in 2002. In 2009, they were promoted to Senior Research Associate, and in 2010, they became a Project Director. Johannah then moved on to become a Senior Project Director and principal investigator, leading and co-leading mathematics education R&D projects. Additionally, they worked as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University Graduate School of Education in 2004 and served as a Substitute Teacher at Sudbury Public Schools from 1997 to 1999.
Johannah Nikula obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Technology in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education between 2001 and 2003. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Middlebury College. Additionally, Johannah has a certification in Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro) from the APM Group, which was obtained in 2016.
