Salimah Jasani has a diverse range of work experience. Currently, they work as a Senior Design Principal at Education Elements, where they consult with education leaders from school districts and state departments of education throughout the country. Their projects involve strategic planning, coaching leaders on various concepts, and supporting teacher professional development. Salimah also conducts data analysis to help districts identify strengths and weaknesses and plan initiatives to improve student outcomes. Prior to this, Salimah held the same position at Scholarus Learning.
Salimah is also known as the Co-founder and Host of the Point of Hue Podcast, which features discussions on tough issues and highlights the work of women of color disrupting the status quo.
In the past, Salimah worked at the Maryland Coalition for Inclusive Education and the Maryland State Department of Education, where they served as a Professional Learning Facilitator and a School Age Performance Specialist, respectively. Salimah's previous experience includes being a Policy Fellow in the Office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the U.S. House of Representatives, Content and Strategy Tutor at The University of Texas at Austin, and a Special Education English Teacher and Case Manager at Baltimore City Public Schools. At Baltimore City Public Schools, they founded mentoring and advocacy programs for students.
Additionally, Salimah worked as a Policy and Advocacy Fellow in the Office of City Council Member Zeke Cohen in the City of Baltimore, where they facilitated the Baltimore Rising Leadership Institute to increase voter engagement and turnout. Salimah also worked as a Corps Member and School Operations Manager at Teach For America, where they supported teachers and students and managed logistical and operational tasks.

Salimah Jasani's education history begins with their attendance at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School from 2006 to 2010. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology (with Special Honors) and English at The University of Texas at Austin from 2010 to 2013. Later on, Salimah attended The Johns Hopkins University from 2014 to 2016, where they completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Education Studies, with a concentration in Special Education/Secondary English. Lastly, from 2018 to 2019, Salimah attended The LBJ School of Public Affairs, where they obtained a Master of Public Affairs degree with a concentration in DC (District of Columbia) Studies.
