EDUCATION FOR CHANGE
Jacey de la Torre is an experienced educator currently serving as a 7th Grade Humanities Teacher and Paraeducator at Education for Change Public Schools since January 2021. With prior roles as a Substitute Teacher in the Knoxville Community School District and an intern at Lane Middle School's SUN Program, Jacey has developed a strong foundation in classroom support and instructional practices. Education includes a Master of Arts in Education from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Reed College. Additionally, Jacey has a rich history in leadership roles, including positions as Team Leader and Lead Outdoor Instructor at Camp Galileo-Lafayette, along with several engagement roles at Reed College that fostered community and student development.

Education for Change (EFC) is Oakland’s largest charter management organization, non-profit. We operate 7 free public charter schools in and serve over 3,000 Tk-10 students in the Fruitvale and Elmhurst neighborhoods of East Oakland.
