Michael McKerley has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. In 2003, they founded and operated their own consulting company, 16th Street Technology, until 2005. Michael then joined Education Networks of America (ENA) in 2004 as a Product Design & Marketing Manager. At ENA, they quickly progressed to become the Director of Research & Development, where they spearheaded the company's expansion into new product portfolios and developed their first VoIP and unified communications services. In 2009, McKerley became the Sr. Director of Technology and Innovation at ENA, where they expanded their responsibilities to include network and systems architecture. During this time, they also launched ENA Air, the company's Wi-Fi-as-a-Service, which became a multimillion-dollar revenue stream. In 2014, they advanced to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO), overseeing the company's overall product and technology strategy and leading product management, development, engineering, and architecture. Recently, in September 2021, McKerley was appointed as the President of ENA, indicating their continued growth and leadership within the organization.
Michael McKerley attended Vanderbilt University from 1989 to 1993, where they pursued a double major in English and Physics and successfully obtained their BA/BS degree. Following that, they attended the University of Montana from 1994 to 1996 to pursue an MFA in Creative Writing.
