James Stuart is an accomplished professional currently serving as the Director of Legal, Governance and Integrity at the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and as the Interim CEO of RYA Cymru Wales. As Chair of the Education Partnership North East, James leads the governing body for the largest college group in the North East, supporting over 20,000 students. Additional roles include Director at One Planet Consulting, Interim Chair of the Ethical Contributions Board for the Scottish Marine Environmental Enhancement Fund, Internal Auditor for the EUROPARC Federation, and Non-Executive Advisor for Scottish Forestry. James has held leadership positions, such as Convener of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority and Interim CEO of RYA Scotland, and possesses a strong educational background, including a PG Dip in Performance Psychology from The University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor's Degree in Oceanography from the University of Southampton.

Education Partnership North East (EPNE) is a dynamic partnership between Sunderland College, Hartlepool Sixth Form and Northumberland College. We are the largest regional college group situated entirely in the North East of England. Our 6 main college campuses are situated in Ashington, Ponteland, Sunderland, Washington and Hartlepool. As well as two sixth forms and two centres for special educational needs and disability, we also have a land based college specialising in animal, veterinary, agriculture. horticulture and rural skills. Aside from this we provide vocational, technical and academic education across further education, higher education and apprenticeships.
