Chirantan Shah

Chirantan Shah is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within the education and consumer goods sectors. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at the Education Support Organization (Gyan Shala) since November 2018, Chirantan has also held positions as Additional Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer. Prior to this, Chirantan co-founded Interviewing India and held multiple roles at ITC, including custodian of the Classmate and Saathi brands, where responsibilities encompassed brand strategies, communication, and consumer engagement. Additional experience includes serving as a business correspondent and sub-editor at Deccan Chronicle and working as an Assistant Systems Engineer-Trainee at Tata Consultancy Services. Chirantan holds an MBA in Marketing and Economics from the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, and a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology.

Education Support Organization (Gyan Shala)

Gyan Shala enables children from poor urban and rural families to attain learning levels of school education similar to that of the children in elite schools. Started in 2000 and promoted by a group of faculty members from IIM Ahmedabad & IRMA, Gyan Shala imparted high quality education to around 45,000 children in 9 cities across 4 states in 2015-2016. Gyan Shala is one of the largest NGO programs in India addressing schooling quality gaps and enabling poor slum children from minority, marginalized, and migrant communities join the professional class of tomorrow. With the focus on outcomes, Gyan Shala has performed independent quality assessments of children's learning levels from reputed external agencies.
