Janine Ikeda has a diverse work experience. Janine is currently employed as a Research and Development Specialist at EduLab, Inc. and a Predoctoral Instructor at the University of Washington. Janine previously worked as a Teacher Assistant at GPI US Inc. from 2016-2018, an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) for the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET) from 2018-2020, a Substitute Teacher at The Children's Center at Burke Gilman Gardens from 2018-2020, and a Substitute Teacher at Bright Horizons from 2016-2018. In their role as an ALT, they utilized a nation-wide English curriculum to design and teach engaging and entertaining lessons for Japanese elementary school students, and effectively communicated with teachers and school staff in another language to ensure classes were conducted smoothly. As a Substitute Teacher at Bright Horizons, they supervised the classroom while allowing regular classroom teachers to go on their break and was highly involved with children from six weeks old to five years working on social-emotional skills, cognitive development, language and literacy, and physical development.

Janine Ikeda has a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Washington, which they obtained between 2020 and 2022. Janine also has a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Teaching and Linguistics, which they obtained from the University of Washington between 2014 and 2018. In addition, they have a 120 Hour TEFL/TESOL Course certification from ITTT - International TEFL & TESOL training.
