Matthew Tait has diverse work experience in the fields of design, art direction, and teaching. In 2013, they founded TAIT Design Co., an independent product design studio specializing in home/office goods and toys. Matthew also founded Laser Rays Detroit in 2018, a manufacturing company focused on custom products and design consulting.
Matthew has held various creative director and art director roles throughout their career. From 2014 to 2015, they served as an Associate Creative Director for Team Detroit, where they worked with Ford's Social technology team to concept and execute work that highlighted Ford's technological breakthroughs. Matthew also worked as an Associate Creative Director for the Pull Ups brand within the Kimberly Clark product family at Organic from 2013 to 2014.
In addition to their design and art direction roles, Matthew has also worked as an Adjunct Professor, teaching a graduate-level graphic design course at Detroit Mercy College of Liberal Arts & Education in early 2022. Matthew tailored a custom curriculum to the students' needs and mentored them throughout the course.
Earlier in their career, Matthew held positions as a Senior Art Director for Wunderman Team Detroit, where they contributed to the redesign of Ford's website, and as a Designer for Organic, where they worked on projects for brands like Jeep, Chrysler, and U by Kotex. Matthew also gained experience as a Designer at Media Genesis and as an Assistant Print Press Operator at VGKIDS.

Matthew Tait obtained a Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design from Eastern Michigan University. Matthew attended the university from 2002 to 2007.
