Laura Hernandez, MBA, is an experienced finance professional with a background in accounting and financial management. Currently serving as Finance Supervisor at Edwards Aquifer Authority since July 2018, Laura previously held positions including Assistant Controller at Improved Piping Products, Inc. from January 2015 to May 2018, and Accounting/HR Manager at Preferred Landscape and Lighting from February 2013 to September 2014, where leadership was provided to the Accounting and Human Resource teams. Laura's career began as an AP Accountant at Kraft Foods Shared Service Center from October 2001 to August 2010. Education includes a Business Administration degree with a focus on Accounting from the University of the Incarnate Word, followed by an MBA in Business Administration and Management from UOP.
Edwards Aquifer Authority
The Edwards Aquifer Authority is a political subdivision of the State of Texas that was created to manage, enhance, and protect the Edwards Aquifer system. A 17-member board of directors representing Atascosa, Bexar, Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, Medina, and Uvalde counties continues its mission Teams of geologists, hydro-geologists, environmental scientists, environmental technicians, educators, and administrative staff collaborate daily to manage, enhance, and protect the Edwards Aquifer for the approximately 2 million South Texans who rely on the aquifer as their primary source of water. The focus of the Education Program is to inform and educate our community of learners about the Edwards Aquifer and the issues affecting it as the region's primary water resource.
