Herko van der Weij

Herko van der Weij is an experienced executive in strategic project management and external manufacturing, currently serving as VP at Edwards Lifesciences since July 2011. With a strong track record of optimizing operations and implementing cost-saving strategies, Herko has led various roles within the company, including Sr. Director - Plant Manager, where manufacturing in Israel was stabilized and transitioned to high-volume facilities. Additionally, as Plant General Manager, Herko successfully turned around a Swiss manufacturing site, addressing quality issues and eliminating global back orders. Before rejoining Edwards Lifesciences in 1998, Herko held positions at Marel and Traveltec, demonstrating diverse leadership in production and entrepreneurship. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree from Eindhoven University of Technology and executive training from Kellogg Executive Education.
