Steve Bender

Steve Bender is an accomplished application engineer with extensive experience in fire safety and protection. Currently serving at Edwards Safety since November 2022, Bender previously founded the Firefighter 5 Foundation in April 2013 and held several key positions, including President and CEO of Fire Tech Support and Technical Services Manager at Wayman Fire Protection, Inc. Bender has a strong background in fire safety education as an instructor at the Delaware State Fire School and has successfully led multiple projects in fire protection engineering, including establishing a profitable life safety division at The Tri-M Group. With a solid foundation as an electrical journeyman in the United States Air Force, Bender has a documented history of skillful design, management, and programming of life safety networks, supported by an Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.
