Gareth Gretton is an experienced professional with a strong background in engineering, research, and education. Currently serving as the Lead Advisor for Research, Evaluation and Insights at the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) since December 2019, Gareth previously held the position of Senior Advisor at EECA and worked as a Project Engineer at Norman Disney & Young. Gareth has also operated as an Independent Engineering Consultant specializing in sustainable energy, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics from April 2013 to December 2019, alongside academic roles as a Senior Academic Staff Member at Wellington Institute of Technology. Prior experience includes post-doctoral research at the University of Edinburgh, contributing to the Energy Technologies Institute's 'PerAWaT' project and the SuperGen Marine research project. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Fluid Dynamics from The University of Edinburgh and a Master of Engineering from Imperial College London, complemented by a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education from the University of Otago.
