Tom Furley

Tom Furley is a seasoned communications professional currently serving as a Senior Communications Advisor at the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) since October 2025. Prior experience includes roles at the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC), where Tom held positions such as Senior Strategic Communication Advisor, Marketing Communications Manager, and Communications Advisor between October 2019 and October 2025. Earlier in the career, Tom worked as a journalist at RNZ from January 2015 to October 2019, and contributed to The Wireless RNZ as a journalist/videographer. Tom's career began with diverse roles, including logistics at Suntory Oceania and as a gap tutor at Port Regis Preparatory School, emphasizing a well-rounded background in communication and education. Tom holds a Bachelor of Broadcast Communications from CPIT New Zealand Broadcasting School and completed the International Baccalaureate at Saint Kentigern College.
