EF Education First
Eliza de Waal is an accomplished independent researcher and consultant English teacher with extensive experience in education and research. Currently serving as an independent researcher at NZ TEU since November 2022 and as a consultant English teacher at EF Education First since February 2020, Eliza specializes in developing English language and communication skills through engaging activities and webinars for global companies. Previously, from June 2012 to July 2019, Eliza worked as a researcher evaluator at NZCER, focusing on literacy, linguistics, and second language acquisition. Earlier roles include research assistant at Victoria University of Wellington and school executive officer at Golden Bay High School, where significant organizational change management was executed. Eliza began a career as a small business owner/operator at Featherfoot Saddlery and Harness, creating handcrafted equestrian gear. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Education, a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Linguistics and Second Language Education from Victoria University of Wellington.
