Duncan Young

Duncan Young has a diverse work experience, with a strong focus on education and leadership development. Duncan is currently a Member of the Board of Visitors at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From 2019, they served as the CEO of Effective School Solutions, an organization that provides clinical solutions to help students with emotional and behavioral challenges.

Prior to that, Duncan held various roles at Scholastic, including Senior Vice President, Vice President, General Manager, and Director of Strategy and Business Development. Duncan was responsible for managing digital learning businesses, overseeing product development, and leading strategic initiatives.

Duncan also has experience in consulting, having worked at Bain & Co. as a Case Team Leader. Duncan worked with C-level executives across multiple industries, focusing on growth strategy, operational improvement, and organizational design.

Additionally, Duncan served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant, specializing in meteorology. Duncan was responsible for weather forecasting and analysis.

Throughout their career, Duncan has also been actively involved in various organizations. Duncan served on the Board of Directors for the Council for Economic Education and was an Advisory Board Member for Addison Holding Group LLC, doing business as Addison House.

Duncan Young obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Duncan attended this institution from 1991 to 1995. Later, they pursued an MBA from The Wharton School, completing their studies between 2000 and 2002.
