Maria Haynie has a wealth of experience in product design and user experience. Maria began their career in 2009 as a Content & Design Strategist and then worked as a Vision Screening Technician for Saving Sight from 2014-2016. In 2016, they became a Content Designer for Columbia College. From 2018-2022, Maria held the roles of Senior UX Designer for DigiCert, Inc., UX Researcher for ZOTT, and UX Designer for Say Insurance. In their role at DigiCert, Maria led the design of a new internal product projected to save $3.2M (USD) per year through reduced time-on-task. Maria also designed user-friendly features and enhancements for B2B enterprise platforms, drove accessibility improvements, and led and mentored other designers. Prior to this, Maria worked as an Associate Producer for BYU Broadcasting from 2007-2009, where they developed research-based programming proposals and budgets for a PBS affiliate, performed studio production roles, and assistant produced the pilot season of a film-themed talk show. Maria is currently a Senior Product Designer for eFileCabinet.

Maria Haynie has a Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction and Design (MHCID) from UC Irvine, which they obtained in 2018. Additionally, they hold a BA in Media Arts and Communications from Brigham Young University, which they obtained in 2009. Maria also has several certifications, including Goal Setting: Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) from LinkedIn obtained in 2022, Understanding and Supporting LGBTQ+ Employees from LinkedIn obtained in 2022, UX Certificate, UX Management Specialty from Nielsen Norman Group obtained in 2021, Completion of the Course for Human-Centered Design from IDEO.org obtained in 2017, and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Scrum Alliance obtained in 2019.
