Philip Auld

Software Architect at Egenera

Philip Auld has been working in the software engineering field since 2000. Philip began as a Software Architect at Egenera in 2000 before taking a role as Senior Engineer at CloudSwitch in 2009. During their time at CloudSwitch, they focused on software development of a product to allow stacking of virtualization layers with a primary focus on x86_64 assembly, mangement of processor registers and page tables and runtime patching of guest OS code to virtualize privileged instructions. In 2010, they returned to Egenera as a Software Architect before joining Red Hat in 2018 as a Principal Software Engineer.

Philip Auld obtained their B.A. in Political Science from Hunter College between 1987 and 1992. Philip then earned an M.S. in Computer Science from William & Mary in 1993 and 1995, followed by a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the same institution between 1995 and 2000.
