Bernard C. Bailey

Bernard C. Bailey, Chairman and CEO of Authentix, a Carlyle-owned company that enables corporations and governments to build market confidence and maximize revenue by authenticating products to combat counterfeiting, protect brand equity, and assure program integrity.

Mr. Bailey’s career spans over two decades of management experience in the technology and security industries. From 2002 to 2006, he served as CEO and Director at Viisage Technology, Inc. – a leading provider of advanced technology identity management solutions. Under his leadership, Viisage’s market capitalization grew from $60 million to over $1 billion. Mr. Bailey has served as a director to eight publicly traded companies, and currently serves on the boards of directors of Authentix, Inc., Telos Corporation, and Analogic Corporation. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Mr. Bailey served for eight years as an officer in the US Navy. He holds advanced degrees in engineering from the University of California – Berkeley and the University of Southern California, an M.B.A. from George Washington University, and a Ph.D. in Management from Case Western Reserve University. He also serves as a Member of the Committee for Economic Development in Washington, DC. Mr. Bailey has also served as an expert financial witness in front of the Delaware Court of Chancery, a major court in the United States.
