Shepherd Shonhiwa has extensive work experience spanning over three decades. Shepherd started their career at TA Holdings Limited in 1985, where they served as the Human Resources Director for four years. In 1989, they joined AMALGAMATED MOTOR CORPORATION as the Deputy Managing Director. Subsequently, they served as the General Manager at Sir Ford Swaziland from 1992 to 1994. In 1994, they worked as a Policy Advisor at the Minerals & Energy Policy Centre before moving on to McDonald's South Africa in 1995, where they held the position of Senior Manager, Human Capital. In 1998, Shepherd became the Chief Operating Officer at Times Media Ltd until 2001 when they assumed the role of CEO at Thebe Petroleum Company. From 2003 to 2009, they served as the Managing Director at Easigas Pty Ltd, and later worked as the Executive Trusted Adviser at Gateways Business Advisers from 2009 to 2012. Since 2012, Shepherd has been the Managing Director of Egoli gas (Pty) Ltd.
Shepherd Shonhiwa has a diverse education history. Shepherd attended St Ignatius College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Industrial Psychology. Shepherd later went on to pursue a Bachelor of Administrative Honors at the University of Zimbabwe. Shepherd furthered their studies at the University of South Africa, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration, specializing in Marketing and Administration Strategy.

Egoli Gas (Pty) Ltd is a natural gas reticulator based in Johannesburg and servicing more than 7 500 domestic, central water heating, commercial and industrial businesses in the Johannesburg area and offers environmentally-friendly, safe, reliable and energy-efficient natural gas. Our commitment to your energy efficient, low carbon lifestyle ensures an uninterrupted flow of natural gas ready to use when it’s needed, safely. Egoli Gas acquires natural gas from Sasol which is stored at a secure facility in Langlaagte where it is carefully monitored and controlled. The gas is reticulated to Egoli Gas’ Cottesloe premises where it’s stored in low pressure holders before being reticulated to homes and businesses across the city. For domestic use, Egoli Gas is located in many of the more established Johannesburg suburbs; however, the pipeline extends even further for our commercial and industrial customers.
