John Postlewait has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. John started their career as a Specialist in the US Army, where they gained experience in maintenance coordination, parts supply, and field operations. After leaving the army, they worked as a Junior Designer at Bartels & Company, where they learned various design skills and was responsible for print production.

John then moved on to Waylon, where they served as an Art Director for Nike and Budweiser brands, working on projects such as event marketing, in-store design, direct mail, and sales promotion. John later joined Upshot as an Art Director, initially focusing on sales promotion for Coca-Cola brands, before expanding into branding and integrated marketing. John also served as the acting Associate Creative Director (ACD) at Upshot.

Following their time at Upshot, John worked as a Freelance Designer and Art Director at Buzz Company. John then joined Eicoff as an Associate Creative Director, where they were involved in producing television spots and supporting materials, with a particular focus on direct response and branded spots. Currently, John is dedicated to improving their writing skills, digital knowledge, and film-making skills.

Throughout their career, John has gained experience in various roles, including design, art direction, and creative direction, and has worked on projects of varying budgets.

John Postlewait attended Illinois State University from 1991 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Graphic Design. In 1999, they attended the Chicago Portfolio School for a year, although it is unclear whether they obtained a degree or field of study from this institution. Additionally, John has obtained two certifications: the IAB Digital Marketing and Media Foundations Certification from Circus Street in September 2021, and the Learning Video Lighting certification from LinkedIn in February 2019.
