Heshan Abayasekera

Heshan Abayasekera has a diverse work experience in the software development and project management industries. In 2021, they began working as a Project Manager at EIGHT25MEDIA. From 2015 to 2021, they worked at DirectFN as a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager, where they were responsible for producing and updating Project Plans, coordinating Resource Allocations, Estimations, Schedule Management, Risk Management, Defect Management, Cost Management and Vendor Management, and managing and coordinating the deliveries of Waterfall and Agile projects. From 2011 to 2015, they worked at SimCentric Technologies as an Associate Project Engineer and Project Engineer, where they managed the timely deliveries of product releases to range of customers with new features while reducing the technical debt, gathered requirements from stakeholders, assisted the Product Owner on product backlog item refinement, reported defects on JIRA, and conducted tracking across multiple product teams till resolution. Heshan also provided the final quality judgment on the product release to the Product Owner and participated in the business analysis activities during the requirements analysis phase of the projects.

Heshan Abayasekera obtained a BSc (Hons) Computing from Staffordshire University between 2008 and 2011, with a focus on Computing. In 2013, they completed a Certified Management Accountant from ICMA Australia - Sri Lanka Branch, specializing in Accounting and Finance. In 2019, they obtained their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. In 2020, they obtained their Professional Scrum Master certification from Scrum.org.
