Mehdi Akbarian

Mehdi Akbarian currently serves as VP of Product and Head of Product Strategy at Einride, where responsibilities include developing strategic product roadmaps and driving cross-functional alignment to enhance global market share in digital platforms and electric freight solutions. Previous roles include Director of Efficient Mobility, focusing on transport costing and emissions methodologies, and a Transportation Infrastructure Planning Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, emphasizing improvements in transportation management systems. Mehdi has also worked as a Sustainable Development Consultant for the Federal Highway Administration, co-creating federal sustainability guidelines, and as a Product Development Consultant for the Athena Sustainable Materials Institute. Notably, Mehdi founded the MIT RLE venture incubator, producing strategic planning software that significantly reduced costs and emissions for infrastructure agencies. Mehdi holds a Ph.D. and a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Tehran in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
