Olasunkanmi James has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Olasunkanmi began their career as a Network Engineer at First City Monument Bank Limited in 2008. Olasunkanmi then worked as a PCM Engineer at the Transmission Company of Nigeria before joining Wema Bank Plc as an IT Security Administrator and later as a Network Security Administrator. At Wema Bank, they were responsible for implementing PCI DSS standards, designing network security solutions, and managing technology operations.

Moving on, Olasunkanmi James worked at Union Bank of Nigeria Plc as an Information Security Officer, where they developed security guidelines, implemented information security controls, and managed vulnerability management. Olasunkanmi then joined Swift Network as an Information Technology Security Specialist, where they focused on ensuring the security of their IT infrastructure.

Following this, Olasunkanmi James worked at Bharti Airtel International (Netherlands) B.V. as a Telecom Security Manager, where they ensured compliance with security standards and provided security architecture and product expertise. Olasunkanmi then joined Airtel Africa as the Head of IT Security and Business Continuity, overseeing the IT security and business continuity functions for the company.

Most recently, Olasunkanmi James joined eir evo as the Lead - Cyber Risk Services, where they provide vCISO services to medium-sized enterprises, offers cyber risk advisory to government and private businesses, and provides oversight on security capability measurement programs.

Throughout their career, Olasunkanmi James has demonstrated expertise in areas such as network security, IT security, PCI DSS implementation, vulnerability management, and security architecture. Olasunkanmi has worked in various industries, including banking, telecommunications, and IT consulting.

Olasunkanmi James completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Covenant University Ota. Olasunkanmi then pursued an Executive MBA in Business Administration and Management from Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University. In 2019, they attended IESE Business School for Executive Education in Management. Olasunkanmi James also obtained various certifications, including CISSP-ISSMP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, CCSP, CISSP, and CEH, among others.
