Joana Maia

Joana Maia currently serves as a Medical Science Liaison specializing in Oncology and Neurology at Eisai EMEA since September 2023, following a six-month interim role as Medical Manager for Oncology and Neurology. Responsibilities include educating the medical community on various cancer types and neurological diseases while developing and executing medical plans aligned with corporate goals. Prior experience includes a Medical Science Liaison role at Pierre Fabre Group focused on colorectal cancer and melanoma, engaging with key opinion leaders and organizing clinical sessions for healthcare professionals. Joana's background also features a postdoctoral fellowship at Champalimaud Foundation, where leadership was demonstrated in cancer research projects, and a PhD focused on liquid biopsies and immuno-oncology. Joana holds an Integrated Master's in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Porto and a PhD in Basic and Applied Biology from ICBAS.
