Martin Beaton

Martin Beaton is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the cyber security sector and business development, currently serving as the Edinburgh Satellite Manager for EIT Digital since July 2019. Under Martin's leadership, the Scotland office has significantly increased its impact, successfully establishing four Doctoral training centres and securing over £5 million in innovation funding for digital startups. Prior roles include Cyber Security Cluster Expert for Skills Development Scotland, Cyber Security Cluster Coordinator at ScotlandIS, and Cyber Security Network Integrator for PwC, where Martin supported the growth of the Scottish cyber security sector. Earlier experience includes a senior role at the University of Edinburgh's commercialisation department and development work at Sigdev. Martin holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews and a BSc in Organic Chemistry from the University of Glasgow.
