Lisa Sviland is currently working as Country Officer - Europe at EITI. Prior to this, Lisa held various roles such as Vitenskapelig assistent at Universitetet i Oslo, Sekretær at Global Happiness, and Kundebehandler at Maschmanns Matmarked. Lisa also worked as a Markedsføringskonsulent at FINCA VILLACRECES SL. Lisa holds a Master's degree in Midtøstenstudier from the University of Oslo and has completed a Short Course in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge. Lisa also has a Bachelor's degree in Midtøstenstudier med arabisk from the University of Oslo. Lisa has additional education in French language and culture from Université Paul Valéry - Montpellier III and Sandvika videregående skole.
EITI (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative)
We believe that a country’s natural resources belong to its citizens. Our mission is to promote understanding of natural resource management, strengthen public and corporate governance and provide the data to inform greater transparency and accountability in the extractives sector. By becoming members of the EITI, 55 countries have committed to disclose information along the extractive industry value chain – from how extraction rights are awarded, to how revenues make their way through the government and how they benefit the public. Through participation in the EITI, countries agree to a common set of rules governing what has to be disclosed and when – the EITI Standard. In each country that has joined the EITI, a multi-stakeholder group, composed of government, companies and civil society supports implementation of the EITI Standard.
